If you love Paris, photography and history, you will be spending a lot of time browsing Paris en Images where in a matter of minutes I saw snapshots of a Sioux in Paris (1900), the Elegante lady tailored in Chanel (1935) and the events of 1968.
They also explore specific themes such as Death and the Statues which documents how French statues where destroyed to help the German war effort.
There is a companion book titled La Mort et Les Statues (by Pierre Jahan and Jean Cocteau) reviewed by Kirsten Berg for the Powells Books Blog.
La mort et les statues is also a music track by French progrock band Art Zoid I just discovered.
I found out about Paris en Images thanks to Paris Maintenant by Rosecrans Baldwin of The Digital Ramble (The Moment, NY Times).
For more contemporary pictures, I suggest Paris Daily Photo whose subject as I write is the Musee Grevin (wax museum, their picture below).
