I ran a business networking group for about 5 years ( part of Fast Company‘s Readers Network) and was always surprised to see how people did not realize the importance of nurturing relationships. It takes time. It is not about how many business cards you collect.
You do not always realize at the time how valuable some contacts will be.
Since starting New Jersey Concierges, I have been able to rely on many people’s advice.
I also make sure that I mention their work and new books when they appear.
I try to share my modest knowledge with those who ask as much as my times allows.
