When I browse through a wine list in a restaurant or give a quick glance in a wine store, I cannot help but notice that most good American Cabernet Sauvignons are pricey.
So I was keen to give a try at this Pitch which I bought for about $15.
The wine (Columbia Valley, Vintage 2004) actually comes to us from Walla Walla (Washington State) courtesy of Dusted Valley Vintners even though I could not find any mention of it on their website.
They describe it as "a food friendly wine with ripe fruit, a rich mid palate and a lush texture"…Sounds about right!
The winery also runs a Stained Tooth Society which gives its members exclusive access to some of their wines.
Besides this Cabernet, they produce a number of Syrahs and of all things…a Supertuscan.
If you can put your hands on a bottle of Pitch, give it a try!
