We’ve talked about Wine Corkage Fee policies at restaurants in the past.
Here’s a tip we want to share with you.
Are you planning a visit to the Sonoma and Russian River Valley areas.
If you visit Sophie’s Cellars, a wine and cheese market in Monte Rios and buy wine there, you can bring one of their bottles and drink it Corkage Free at the following Russian River restaurants, River’s End in Jenner, Roadhouse Restaurant at Dawn Ranch Lodge in Guerneville, Triple R in Guerneville, Seaweed Cafe in Bodega Bay and Cafe Les Jumelles in Monte Rios. River’s End loves sunsets as illustrated by the picture we chose for this post.
Amongst other useful information on the Sophie’s Cellars homepage find the list of Sonoma Wine Country 13 Appellations (otherwise known as AVAs: American Viticultural Areas):
Here they are:
1. Russian River Valley
2. Alexander Valley
3. Dry Creek
4. Rockpile
5. Sonoma Coast
6. Green Valley
7. Chalk Hill
8. Knights Valley
9. Bennett Valley
10. Sonoma Mountain
11. Sonoma Valley
12. Carneros/Sonoma
13. Fort Ross / Seaview (proposed)
What led me to this wine lovers trove was the newly launched Bohemian Connection, a guide to working and living the good life in and around Freestone, Occidental, Monte Rios. These few towns are right off the Bohemian Highway in West Sonoma County, some 60 miles north of San Francisco and in some way a world away.
Check Bohemian Connection before a visit. You might even think about settling there after seeing what the region has to offer.
