There are always days when we feel more inspired, things flow and we just enjoy the tasks at hands, some other times sluggishness settles in or at least we get the hiccups…
In Staying Motivated, Kevin Cornell (A List Apart) shares a few ways to keep going.
Getting started in his opinion is the hardest part, next is keeping the momentum and also knowing when to set things aside, go for a stroll and clear your head.
Having realistic expectations also helps.
I do not mention goals here which I am not very fond of. A sense of direction or what could be called ‘meandering with a purpose’ suits me better.
I agree with him that good surroundings do matter as well as being able to celebrate your achievements.
In order to experience that journey, we all need obviously to ‘Get on our horse’ first.
What Kevin outlines could be applied all the same to staying in shape, tending to your garden or training for a marathon to name a few things.
