How many of us would get more done if we stepped away from the office, turned off the phone and left our e-mail inbox alone, at least for a time?
Many would if we did.
Jason Fried of 37 Signals recently drew comparisons between work and sleep with the following words: "If you constantly get interrupted, you never get a good night sleep.
Work is the same way. By being silent and only communicating via IM or
email, you are more apt to get into the zone and crank out more quality
work in a shorter amount of time."
I feel the same way. I hate constant interruptions.
