Going from Green Day to Ireland feels natural even if I had to jump all the way from South Africa.
Topics come to me sometimes as is the case with Cork’s Midsummer Festival.
For whatever reason, someone from The Independent (Ireland) visited this site, I returned the favor and came upon Cork Midsummer Festival of the Senses as its full title states…
It runs from June 15 to July 5th and kicks off on Sunday June 15 with The Lord Mayor’s Picnic in the Park which they describe as a magical playground of clowns, fools, music, good vibrations and fabulous food, highlights are boat rides down the river, circus shows, fantastic street theatre, face painting, string quartets.
This event will please the Consumed to Thrifty crowd as it is Free.
Two days later if you dare to bare, you can participate in a group shot of photographer Spencer Tunick.
Not to forget Theater which will be plentiful.
In the Music department, German pioneers Faust will be there on June 21st.
Local talent Bones of Cork an unusual formation of five jazz trombonists and a rhythm section (pictured above) playing jazz standards and original compositions get top billing on July 2nd…
