Jean-Yves Kermarec does not write books or make movies to share the story of his town Brest and its surroundings.
Instead he decided to use his talent as an Artisan Chocolatier to give others a taste for the history of the sometimes wind and rain battered city in northern Brittany.
His medium is a chocolate shop not quite like any other, Histoire de Chocolat.
He celebrates his corner of the world by marrying high end chocolate with home grown ingredients such as the salted butter of Guerande (Litoral), you can find black chocolate married with infusion of algae of Roscoff (Oceanololis) an honey from the black bees of Ouessant (Diamant Noir).
I found my way to this ocean of creativity by way of the Astropolis dance music festival or rather Flying visit to Brest, The Guardian mention of the event.
