If there is one thing I cannot get used to since I moved to the US it is blasting air conditioning in public spaces (malls, restaurants, offices, you name it) during the summer season or sweltering heat in the winter.
One such occurrence happened yesterday while I attended Web 2.O Expo NYC.
The keynotes hall was fine but the main expo hall blasting AC had me shivering. I had to put a sweater on.
I woke up this morning with a sore throat and decided to skip today’s events.
Besides the unhealthy aspects of these too low or too high temperatures what a waste of energy.
Hard to understand when every event and corporation wants to highlight their eco-friendly initiatives.
I have to agree with Over air-conditioning – please give us a break by Barbara of Mommy Life (not on her presidential endorsement though).

Benjamin Jones asks Who Needs Air Conditioning When You’ve Got Ice-Cold Water Running Through Your Shirt? (on EcoModder).
So today, I stay home with no air conditioning or fan on and I am comfortable.
