I woke up this morning wondering what $150,000 could buy besides clothing and accessories.
There was no better place to start than with the well informed How to spend it magazine.
Since I cannot help but dream of a pampered week on the sea, I started with Edmiston (Yachts and Boats) whose ads grace each issue of ‘How to spend it’ and looked for something not too pricey.
I did find The Seven Sins which Edmiston describes as offering “Warm tones, gloss cherry wood panelling, teak parquet floors and large
windows create a bright, casual ambience. SEVEN SIN’S upper deck saloon conveys an Asian
ambience and can also be used as a theatre area with its 60″plasma
screen. With two saloons, two al-fresco dining areas and a tender-free
sundeck fully equipped with a Jacuzzi and sun mattresses, the
versatility of this luxury yacht is limitless.“
During the winter months, the boat can be chartered for a weekly rate of 109,500 USD MYBA Terms (before tax).
From what I gathered the food, fuel and other costs would be a third of the weekly rate so it brings us very close to $150,000.
It leaves a little change on the table for a couple of swimsuits maybe?
If you had £150,000 (British Pounds) you could find Batty Ways to Spend with a copy of the Batmobile.
Getting back to How to spend it, the October 10 Issue featured the prescient fashion spread All President and Correct (not available online, yet).
Too many choices, too little time!
