From carved pumpkins to painted ones, pumpkin soup or tart, as the recipient for risotto or wild rice on restaurant dishes not to forget pumpkin ale, now is that time of the year when pumpkins are omnipresent.
For those of us in the San Francisco area on October 18-19, the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival will celebrate pumpkins in all their splendor.
Adding to the festive air, no less than 3 stages will showcase all kinds of music and bands.
Besides the star of the festival other foods on offer are artichokes, Brussels sprouts and tamales.
In the wine and beer department you will have a chance to sample the Half Moon Bay Winery’s festival-label Syrah and Half Moon Bay Brewing Company’s Mavericks Pumpkin Harvest Ale.
There are plenty of activities for kids big and small and crafts on sale.
The Festival takes place in Half Moon Bay on Main Street between Miramontes and Spruce Streets between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
A blessing for the Consumed to Thrifty, the Event is Free.
