Starting Monday, October 6, the Spanish world on both sides of the Atlantic will celebrate the Christopher Columbus discoveries with the VivAmerica festival (Spanish language site).
Events take place simultaneously in Madrid, Tenerife and Bogota.
They cover all aspects of arts and culture from theater to books to music as well as gastronomy.
Bogota for example has a Goya exhibit titled ‘The disasters of war’ at Fundación Gilberto Alzate AvendaƱo. Tenerife has a photography show by Daniel Mordzinski.
Plenty of Music Offerings of course.
Food wise on Sunday, October 12, 8 renowned chefs from the Hispanic world will showcase a number of favorite dishes on Plaza Mayor in Madrid from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and the public will be able to taste some of them.
I will try to find out more details in English ASAP.
It seems that many events are Free so it will appeal to the Consumed to Thrifty crowd.
Exciting endeavors.
