Despite all the gloomy financial news, Jo Riley found reasons to be cheerful in the coming holiday season with a reported Bumper Mistletoe Crop.
The writer asked Jonathan Briggs, who runs Mistletoe Matters in Gloucestershire for a reason behind the abundance. He is not quite sure but says 'it could
be because we had a mild winter last year when the flowers were being fertilized'.
What's love got to do with it? Jo Riley offers that 'According to tradition, a man should pluck a berry when he kisses a
woman under a branch of the plant and when the last berry is gone there
should be no more kissing. With so many berries this year it should
certainly be a good Christmas for kissing.'
