Don’t we all tend to fall into routines, habits and forget to keep our eyes and ears opened to new ideas, music, books, music, the list would be too long to be written.
Launched on December 3, 2008 in London (UK), Stack came up with a remedy for that.
Instead of subscribing to one single magazine, Stack acts like a museum curator, selects a number of publications and sends you a different mag each month.
This way inspiration is delivered to your mailbox.
They credit Russel Davis idea that people should read a new magazine every month as a starting point for their venture.
The current selection includes Bad Idea which bills itself as ‘the smart option’ and offers online opinion pieces such as Car, Cheese Industries Get Government Bailout (December 10).
If you lean more towards music, movies and culture of various stripes and styles, Plan B might help you fetch new discoveries. The December issue comes with a 14 Track CD Sampler from Champagne (Illinois) label Polyvinyl including ‘ Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin’…
I picked Plan B’s Grace Jones Cover as my illustration.
The above two are UK mags.
In the Stack rooster you will also find Arthur bringing home ‘All Ages Counterculture’.
If you are hooked by the Stack idea, visit their Subscription Page which offers the options of either 6, 8 or 12 magazines per year. Cost varies depending on where you live (UK, Continental Europe or Rest of World).
Not quite ready to take the plunge, you can always read the Stack Blog…
Thanks to Springwise for putting them on my radar.
