When sending a balance due to a client should we shave off the pennies if it is only a tad over the dollar amount or round it up to the nearest dollar amount if it is close enough?
I recently sent a balance due that only trebled above that dollar amount (a few pennies).
I sent it pennies included
Should we act like accountants in that case and request the exact amount or go for a clean round figure?
In No more pennies, Megan of Counting my Pennies writes (on February 12) that in West Concord, Massachusetts, "a number of stores are refusing to accept
pennies as of today, calling pennies “wasteful and time consuming.”
Instead, they will round all purchases down to the nearest nickel."
I wonder what advice Nichelle of Keeping Nickels would offer?
Funny enough there is a cupcake connection between Megan and Nichelle…
