It dawned on me in the past week that the 4th Birthday of 'Serge the Concierge' was fast approaching so I went looking for the exact date.
First story on March 22, 2005 was New favorite wine….Castano 2003 (Spain) Monastrell Red Wine followed on same day by Krafty…The new single by New Order tops my List lately (their last album)…
On March 22, 2006, the topic was you guessed it One year anniversary for 'Serge the Concierge' today and I realized that a day earlier was our first mention of World Water Day.
A few days later, March 27 to be exact we shortened our home address with our own domain name.
A year closer, March 22, 2007, my infatuation with Japan started to show in 'Inspiration is more important than knowledge' Product Poetry in Japan. World Water Day 07 was on the agenda in A Few Dry Numbers and I happened to have a cold.
For the 2008 Vintage Izakaya…The Japanese Neighborhood Bistro?…And a Cookbook and no mention of the 3 year mark.
In March 2008, for my second visit to South by Southwest, I did my first panel there titled Just Over 50 and Not Dead Yet on how the online world is not populated only by 20 somethings.
Over the course of these 4 years, I started writing on a weekly basis on work with Monday Work Etiquette (81 of them at last count), Tuesdays turned into Green Day (practically green, next one will be number 70) and Thursday is for Tokyo Thursdays, 80 installments so far, the latest being The Grassy Aroma of 'Igusa' Tatamis.
An ongoing thread for more than a year is Consumed to Thrifty on how to live a good life in a wobbly economy (easier said than done?)…
As for this year, no party, no cake, no birthday hats, just wondering how I have managed to stick with it for so long.
Maybe the perks (wine tastings, chocolate show, books), mainly I am sure because some people keep reading my stuff in many places around the world so I know I am not toiling in complete obscurity.
Thanks for keeping me going.
