I could have kept this one for later since I have barely started sharing my picks and discoveries from Gambero Rosso 09 New York tasting.
What the heck, this Fattoria Rodano 2006 is one of the best Sangiovese bang for the buck that I have tasted in a while.
You know Sangiovese as in Chianti.
OK it is rounded up by 10% Merlot.
Rich fruit, great sensual body.
I learned thanks to 'The Greene Grape' that "Fattoria di Rodano is located in the heart of Chianti Classico in the
famed commune of Castellina in Chianti. The original farm dates from
the middle ages, when it was used as a lodge for pilgrims traveling
from northern Europe to Rome."
Around $13, a steal,my Consumed to Thrifty friends.
