Simple pleasures.
Give me Cornichons and Pate or Soppressata and I am a happy man.
Watching my budget, I went wine wise for the Monte Castrillo 2007, Finca Torremilano (mostly Tempranillo with a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon) at about $12.
I did not find much about this Hearty Red Red Wine but the Rosé from the same producer Bodegas Penalba Lopez in Ribeira del Duero was voted Best for 2008 by Wine Authorities
After sampling Big Ed's cow cheese (picture below) from Saxon Creamery ($9.99 a pound), I decided to give it and doubled up with its Wisconsin neighbor the Amish Blue (around $8.00 a pound).
Saxon Creamery writes that Big Ed's 'Hugs you back and never offends' and for tasting notes describes it as Young, mild, but full of flavor, with a buttery body.
The Amish Blue seems to be actually made by real Amish in Salemville. I could be wrong.
As I said to start with simple pleasures for our Consumed to Thrifty times….
