Sorry for the late Tokyo Thursdays, busy day for the concierge.
Thanks to the ever friendly and in the know Fumiko, I did not have to look for a 'Tokyo Thursdays' topic, she sent it my way.
You might like cooking, Japanese culture, calligraphy and good craftsmanship or any combination of these.
You don't have to be elders like our friends below (photo from event page) to like them.
Here's an event that will get you excited.
A friend of hers from Tokyo runs a company that makes traditional Maekake aprons.
He will be showcasing his creations and a calligrapher will be on site customizing a number of them.
Japan Mode (Dec 06) shares its take on Fashion and Tradition of Maekake.
This Maekake Event takes places on September 5 and 6 at Kinokuniya Bookstore in New York located at 1073 Avenue of the Americas (Bet 40th + 41st St).
Hope I can make it there.
Thanks Fumiko for the tip.
