It is not everyday that Peruvian hotels show up on my radar. It just happened with Hoteles San Agustin (via Twitter).
I have mentioned Peru at times like for the year of the potato.
What attracted me in Hoteles San Agustin approach is that they combine modern amenities with local architecture and character, vivid fabrics and color themes as well as indigenous art.
All these elements combined make them stand out.
Besides their location in the capital Lima and tourist destination, Cusco, I especially liked the Hotel San Agustin Monasterio de la Recoleta, 75 minutes from Cusco and an hour and a half from Machu Pichu whose photo gallery makes you want to be there.
Is it because it is located in what was once a monastery (built in the 17th century) or the small town feel of Urubamba. It just feels from a distance like the perfect place to rest, bring the stress down, maybe a good setting for anyone who signed up for NaNoWriMo and his trying to write a book in 30 days.
I would settle for a week to 10 days there, soaking up the place…
