Rather than making new year resolutions that you will not keep, would it not be more fun to plan a few trips around the globe.
If your wine 'goal' for 2010 is Going Rhone, you might want to plan a visit to the 82nd Ampuis (Cote Rotie) Wine Market (sorry French only site).
It takes place from Friday, January 22 to Monday, January 25 in Ampuis and hosts 61 Winemakers and Negociants showcasing 200 wines from the following appellations: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, Hermitage, Saint-Péray et Croze-Hermitage.
As an extra teaser, here's a list of who will be there (subject to change):

Obviously to make it through the tasting you will need food to sustain you.
This is where the 15 booth with regional products from all over France will come handy.
From Oleron oysters to Macarons to Jams and Wild Mushrooms as well as Organic Cheeses, you are in for a treat it seems. I almost forgot to mention Snails.
Whole program sounds like the perfect therapy for post holiday stress.
