I have never visited L'Oenolimit in Bordeaux but to call it a wine store would be narrow casting.
On occasion they host musicians, display art on the walls and push the pairings beyond wine and cheese as they did past November by pairing Steven Galloway's book, The Cellist of Sarajevo and a Champagne, Cuvée 733 from Jacquesson.
This coming Sunday, January 10, they invite those nearby to L'oenolimuître to toast 2010 with Oysters and White Wine (from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM).
The shop was opened on June 18, 2009 by Olivier Raynaud and Mathieu Oudotand and seems to be bringing excitement to the neighborhood if the opening day video above is representative.
Not quite sure why they used 'Dream Baby Dream' (by New Yorkers Suicide) as the soundtrack…
Who said wine had to be staid and boring?
