Once in a while, I might be browsing for books, movies or even cheese or wine and a word, a title stops me in my tracks and gets my attention.
A few days ago, Cave Part des Anges, a caviste in Perpignan sang the praises of Ciel Liquide as "a wine chiseled in Calce by Jean Philippe Padié of Domaine Padie (Côtes du Roussillon) from Carignan, Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvedre…A wine one should taste eyes facing the sky, laying in the grass under a tree…"
The name of the wine itself, Ciel Liquide ('Liquid Sky') was poetic which is only natural since as I discovered later, it was named after a poem from Charles Baudelaire and also in homage to Mr. Gainsbourg.
All that's left for me to do now is taste the sky.
