Instead of heading for a $100 plus wine dinner or wine tasting, for a quarter of that, $25 that is, if you are in the Bay Area on April 10 or April 11, 2010, head for the first San Francisco Vintners Market at Fort Mason Center.
Besides the recession friendly admission price, what's so different about this wine event.
Very simple, at the San Francisco Vintners Market you can try as many wines as you want from some 100 California wineries and you will able to buy any wine you like on the spot.
Think of it as a Farmer's Market for wine as Alder of Vinography put it.
Amongst the better known wineries present are Kent Rasmussen, Fess Parker, a favorite of mine Schug (try their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) and a chance to discover many under the radar wines I am sure.
The Full List will see additions in the run up to the event.
Can't wait, Buy a Ticket now.
Note that wines priced over $50 will be poured in the Reserve Room which requires a Reserve Ticket ($60).
