Thanks to the gooey buzz generated by 50 states of Jell-O, I discovered that others build Jello Cities (Papawow, June 1st).
In his Jello Cities piece, Dave Koch shares the picture below of Liz Hickok putting the final touch to her 'San Francisco' creation.
Visiting the Liz Hickok site, I noticed that beyond the San Francisco in Jello series, the artist is currently presenting You Art What You Eat at MASSMoCA (North Adams) in the Kidspace.
Show runs until September 6, 2010 and also features the work of Chandra Bocci, Luisa Caldwell, Saxton Freymann, and Joan Steiner.
I might be able to catch Liz next endeavor Emo-Mapping New York at Pratt Manhattan Gallery in New York (September 23-November 6, 2010).
Checking Her Videos including Jello White House, the First Hundred Days might make you smile.
Since 'map it good' in the title of my '50 States of Jell-O' piece was a tip of the hat to Devo, I was pleased that the Akron band also got the Jello treatment.
Emma Courtland reports in LAWeekly Blog on Jello Tribute to DEVO which took place at Tender Greens in Hollywood.
Included in the event was the 'Crack that Whip' poster by KII Arens…
Gattina, a Chinese lady, born and raised in Hongkong. now in Barcelona had a head start on that LA Show with the Vegetarian Gelatina, Medlar and Chrysanthemum Flavor (May 21, 2009 on Gattina).
OK it's not Red as Devo hats are…Looks great!
Before I get sucked in by all things Jell-O let me conclude by mentioning The Jello Mold Mistress of Brooklyn aka Victoria Bellanger…
Her most recent creation is the Rainbow Jello above (June 7, 2010)
