While London is celebrating Fete de la Musique along Exhibition Road, New York gets a warm up by hot line-up from Mali, Haiti and France with Salif Keita, Tabou Combo, Lo'Jo in a Free Concert.
Lo'Jo might be the least known quantity amongst the 3 acts.
performance to reflect their diverse communal culture, and truly push
the traditional music into a modern context by incorporating a variety
of international grooves.
This concert is at Central Park Summerstage yet part of Make Music New York, Fete de la Musique with a Big Apple flavor. It starts at 3 PM.

Bands will perform on 17 stages scattered around the
island, as free ferries transport revelers from Lower Manhattan and
DUMBO to Governors Island every half hour, beginning at 10am.
Because Governors Island is closed on the day of Make Music New York,
Punk Island takes place the day before, on Sunday, June
20th. Just like the rest of MMNY, all performances are outdoors
and completely free.
Maritime Building in Battery Park, Manhattan, and every 20 minutes from
the Fulton Ferry Landing in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Ferry service from
Manhattan begins at 10am; service from Brooklyn begins at 11am.
No alcoholic beverages, pets, or weapons are permitted on Governors
Island.
