I first heard about Aperivino from Alessio Casamatta, a young fellow I had the pleasure to meet at Vino 2010 in New York (back in February).
His family is the proud owner of Villa Patrizia and their site suggests that "one barrel of wine can work more miracles than a Church full of Saints".
We kept in touch since then and the only trouble was the Aperivino news he shared were in Italian.
I understood the basic idea but could not grasp the details so I asked him to send me the English version.
"Aperivino is an event promoted by Terravino, an Italian advertising agency for the wine world. "Aperitivo" means "aperitif", so Aperivino is a pun (Aperitivo+vino).
The happening will be hosted by some bathhouses in Principina and Marina di Grosseto, two nice villages by the sea in the district of Grosseto.
It will start on Friday, August 6th and continue every Friday until August 20th. We will be in Marina (bathhouse "Stella") next Friday, but others farms will be hosted by other facilities. Price is 8€ and people can eat some snacks."
Fun in the sun by the sea in Tuscany.
