Darn, fly me to Shell Beach for World of Pinot Noir in California this week.
Put 90 producers in one place for a week-end (March 4-6) and you get Pinot Noir dans tous ses etats, Pinot Noir in many styles with a preponderance of California and West Coast wineries.
There are a couple French producers including Domaine Marc Roy (Gevrey-Chambertin) and Jean-Marc Bouley (Volnay).
The under the radar pick of the event must be Mohr Niggli from Switzerland.
Kiwis are represented by Quartz Reef (Central Otago) and Villa Maria Estate (Manukau).
In non-wine related news Villa Maria Estate is hosting the only 2011 concert by Roxy Music in New Zealand on March 6.
This wine event came to my attention thanks to Alexandrine Roy.
World of Pinot Noir takes place from March 4th to March 6th at The Cliffs Resort on Shell Beach Road, Pismo Beach, California…beautiful surroundings.
