Third player in our Cook the Books Contest for World Book Night, March 5th, is all about managing our kitchen habits from budget to planning to healthy diet.
Trio number 3 is courtesy of St Martin's Press
Let's be sensible and calorie conscious with Nutrition Diva’s Secrets for a Healthy Diet by Monica Reinagel of Nutrition Over Easy. Book was just released on March 1st.
She's a diva not a fitness guru so the third point she raises on the book cover is What to Stop Worrying About…
From Sensible we go to Sweet maybe even Sinful with Small-Batch Baking for Chocolate Lovers (February 2011) by Debby Maugans.
Debby does not obsess on the calorie count. She came up with recipes that allow us to try different things on a small scale rather than try to feed an army.
Cutting recipes down to human size would be a way to put it.
We interviewed Erin Chase author of $5 Dinner Mom Breakfast and Lunch Cookbook a few weeks back.
If you need to tame your food budget, she's the one.
How can you try your luck?
Since the theme of World Book Night is all about reading and writing, each participant will send a poem, a haiku, a recipe, some prose related to one of the trios of books, 5 lines maximum.
On Monday, once the dust settles, we will go through all the entries.
The best entry will get first pick, second will pick from remaining four trios and so on for remaining three.
All entries must be submitted by 6 PM on Monday, March 7, 2011 (US Eastern Time).
