The Pig Headed Cover of Grand Seigneur is what first caught my eye.
This food and wine special by French magazine Technikart does not pretend or try to be a food magazine which actually is what makes it interesting.
Subjects go from controversial writings about dairy products La Peau du Lait to an interview with Raphael Sorin, French editor of Houellebecq and Bukowski who reminisces amongst other things on Charles Bukowski chugging wine from the bottle during his first appearance on French tv in mid 70's.
They organized a get together of sorts to mark the 38th anniversary of the release of 'La Grande Bouffe' a movie by Marco Ferreri.
They stir the pot with La junk-food est-elle bonne pour la santé? (Is junk food good for your health).
In the liquid department, they interview Jay McInerney in «Le vin m’a appris à modérer ma consommation d’alcool» (Wine taught me to moderate my consumption of alcohol).
All in all, Grand Seigneur treats food and wine as the perfect conduit for good conversation.
Enjoy if you read French!
