Walking food and drink tours come in many flavors.
On June 21, Slow Food London invites willing parties to join them for a Good Beer Trail visiting 5 Taverns around the Strand and Covent Garden.
All 5 taverns made the list in Good Beer Guide, they are in order of visit I assume:
Ship and Shovell, 1-3 Craven Passage WC2N 5PH, beneath Charing Cross station. Listed building gem and superb Badger beers.
The Harp, 47 Chandos Place WC2. The first London Pub to be named as Britain’s Pub of the Year and in 2011! A choice of 8 Ales and 9 Farmhouse Ciders.
Coffee House, 31 Endell Street, WC2. Serves beers from emerging East London Brewery, Brodie’s Beers
Freemasons Arms, 91-92 Long Acre, WC2. Where both the Royal Geological Society and the Football Association was formed. Splendid Kentish beers from Shepherd Neame.
Nell of Old Drury, 29 Catherine Street, WC2. Theatreland legend since the 1660s when Charles II had assignations here with Nell Gwynne. Keeps ales so well it has recommendations in Tourist guides.
There is no Fee for the tour guided by Bill Green. All you have to do is show up at 7 PM on June 21, 2011 at Ship and Shovell.
Participants pick and pay for their own beers.
