Mega beer events are taking place all over the world map this summer.
Others are equivalent to club gigs versus arena shows and keep their focus on local talent.
I would have mentioned the Dog and Grog Montana Microbrew Festival just for its down home name.
Over 2 days (July 15-16, 2011) the Bale of Hay Saloon in Virginia City hosts the event.
Friday night starts with the "Wee Dog pint night, $2 pints from Missoula’s own Bayern Brewing (the only German Brewery in the Rocky Mountains) starting at 5pm and Richard Riesser playing eclectic electric music from 5pm to 7pm."
Saturday festivities open at Noon and run until 7 PM. Make sure to get there early to get our NO COVER package deal, you get 8 tasters of beer, polish dog and limited edition commemorative glass.
10 local brewers including Lewis and Clark Brewing, Bitterroot Brewing, Bayern Brewing, Neptune’s Brewery, Madison River Brewing, Bozeman Brewing, Lone Peak Brewery, Kettle House Brewery, Quarry Brewing and Blackfoot Brewing, none of which I had a chance to sample.
This is the 8th edition of Dog and Grog.
Taste them for me.
