This afternoon, i caught the tail end of a mostly Rose wine tasting (there were also Reds from Tenuta di Fessina in Sicily and Tokai from Dogobo) presented by Winebow up in the Tree House at David Burke Kitchen.
Amongst my first encounters was Le Chene Bleu Rose, pale pink blend of Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%).
The winemaker compares the aromas of this wine to the scents of medieval rose flowers planted around the house.
Fresh yet structured is how they describe it with its combination of fruit flavors and good acidity on finish.
Le Chene Bleu winery is located in Crestet, Vaucluse (Rhone).
Feeling blue, pop open a bottle of Le Chene Bleu rose.
