At Think Pink rose wine tasting yesterday, I was introduced to Wolffer rose (Sagaponack, Long Island) and Ravines rose from the Finger Lakes area.
The pale pink and crisp Wolffer rose is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and last Chardonnay.
I was also prompted to attend New York Drinks New York Grand Tasting at Astor Center on Monday, March 12.
Organizers announce that attendees will have a chance to taste over a hundred wines "from more than 35 New York producers from the Finger Lakes, Niagara Escarpment, Long Island, Hudson River Regionand Thousand Islands."
38 wineries will be present from Anthony Road and Inspire Moore to Red Newt (not the presidential hopeful) and Wagner.
Afternoon trade/media session is followed by one opened to general public from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.
Price for this second option is $25 in advance and $30 at the door (unless sold out).
Unfortunately, I just learned that event is sold out.
