A winery located in Anatolia, about an hour from Ankara, named Vinkara was present at New York Wine Expo and gave me my first introduction to Turkish wines.
I was introduced to the tropical fruit scents and long finish of their white Narince and smoky flavors of red Kalecik Karasi. both from their Doruk series.
The Kalecik Karasi calls for food.
Both Narince and Kalecik Karasi are grapes native to the region.
