This blog Serge the Concierge will turn 20 in March.
I still hesitate getting into a not yet traveled medium: podcasts.
I have been listening to more of them recently to see what people both in the US and France are doing with the format.
Listening to them is also a good way to not fall asleep at the wheel on a long drive. I lent an ear to 2 podcasts, 1 episode each, on Sunday evening.
I started with a famous West Coast personality who invited a known Ivy League professor to talk about her new book.
It was about conversation which seems like a perfect topic for a podcast.
Constant sprinkling of faked/forced laughter by the host was a killjoy. I stopped listening midway through.

My second try was a French podcast were the host’s voice and manner were natural without being flat. The guest was a British guy who got his French citizenship after living in France for many years.
Despite the fact that the voice of the guest was fading out at times, they both sustained my interest. Each of them is a known quantity in their field yet they are small potatoes compared with guest and host on US podcast.
What I like in a good podcast when all is said and listened to is, an interesting guest and topic, an host that keeps the conversation flowing.
So hiring an editor or not, I will have to tape a podcast episode and see how rough it is, and decide.
Very irritating or Slightly imperfect for Monday Work Etiquette #155
