A graphic artist by training, 30 hear old Oscar Ginter, discovered Riso Printing, a Japanese technique, and became a specialist.
After running a print shop and a publisher showcasing this technique, he opened Quintal, an independent bookshop featuring all things Riso.
When you walk into the shop, located near Notre-Dame-de-la-Croix church, in the 20ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, you land into a world of color.

Riso Pop offers their take on What is Riso?
“RISO is the name of both a printer and ink company from Japan. Noboru Hayama started his company in post-war Japan (in 1946), calling it RISO.” and that “the name RISO means ‘ideal’ in Japanese, a poetic name that Hayama chose as he found it important that people should not lose their ideals during this period of despair.“
