Better than nicely worded statements, companies in New Jersey can turn unused prepared food into meals for those who need it with Share my Meals.
I discovered the organization at first edition of Princeton FrancoFest on Saturday where their stand was within view of mine where I was promoting my Spend More Time Doing Less guide for Mediterranean Work and Play.
I learned more about their approach on my train ride back home, talking with someone from their team who was taking the same train. She explained that for many cafeterias deciding how many meals they should make each day as become harder to predict with people sharing their work week between the office and home.
In a nutshell, they collect unused prepared foods from companies’ cafeterias, restaurants, universities and hospitals and help reduce food waste then distribute these meals to non-profit organizations or directly to individuals.
