Besides his globe trotting activities in the wine world, Bernard Magrez has collected art for many years.
Taking it one step further, he created Institut Culturel Bernard Magrez in 2010 to both showcase art and support the creative process.
One of the foundation's pillars is Hotel Labottiere in Bordeaux focused on contemporary art in all forms.
Its collection opened to the public includes iconic photographies like Francoise Hardy (below) captured in all her glamour at 22 by Jean-Marie Perier.
A wine themed painting by Bernard Buffet, bronze animal sculptures and many other items round the selection.

The Institut opens its doors for concerts, poetry readings and other cultural happenings. It also supports art creation through art purchases, commissions for new creations and giving grants to artists in the 'Villa Medicis' spirit.
In a recent interview with French weekly l' Express, Bernard Magrez notes that while Hotel Labottiere will focus on contemporary art in all forms, Château Fombrauge (Saint-Emilion) will nurture violonists et harpists and Château La Tour Carnet where Montaigne and La Boétie became friends will be dedicated to literary pursuits.
Besides his cultural endeavors, with Luxury Wine Tourism, Bernard Magrez gives you a chance to see some of his wine properties up close.
