Never mind that as i was tasting these 2 Provence Rose Wines from 2010 vintage at Polaner Selections spring tasting in New York, a mix of rain, snow, hail and thunder was falling on our area throughout the day.
Before leaving Gotham Hall where tasting took place, I went back to take this snaphot of Guillaume Lefevre of Domaine de Sulauze in Miramas and Jacqueline Guichot of Domaine de Saint-Ser in Puyloubier each proudly holding their creations.
Guillaume and his Brazilian wife Karina purchased their property located 40 km from Aix-en-Provence in 2004. They are now certified organic.
The Rose from Domaine de Sulauze is named 'Pomponette' and is a blend of 60% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Role, 15 % Cinsault and 5 % Mourvedre. Refreshing and graced with pale salmon robe, it is perfect for a backyard or pool party.
Guillaume also gave me a taste of Les Amis (2009) a robust red (80% Petite Syrah, 20% Grenache). I don't think it's available in the US yet.
Domaine de Saint-Ser is in the sub-appellation of Cotes de Provence named 'Sainte Victoire' and its Rose goes by the prosaic name of 'Cotes de Provence Rose Ste Victoire'. Domaine uses sustainable practices.
This classic Cotes de Provence Rose is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Rolle.
I am taking advantage of my new HTC Inspire 4 G phone to snap photos on the go.
A spontaneous way to create stories.
I know there is room for improvement in photo quality.
It comes from me, not the camera.
in the meantime, enjoy this ray of sun.
