Still reeling, slowly healing from left thumb injury, I finally got to sift through the flood of entries in our Sweet Life in Paris paperback contest.
3 books were for the picking.
2 out of 3 go to Minnesota, third one to New Jersey.
All 3 winners are women, felicitations!
Kelly of Apple Valley, Minnesota has this to say about herself:
"Well…I am a single gal (yes, looking for Mr. Right) that would be described as creative and outgoing. I am a self-proclaimed information junkie, so typically a good resource of information for others. I love to cook and entertain. I am a foodie that doesn't eat fish and seafood (Yes, I have tried it, but I just haven't acquired the taste for it). I love craft cocktails and craft beers. Pour me a glass of wine and I am happy too. I enjoy trying new foods and beverages. I love to travel and engage in local experiences.
I just started following your Twitter and website after seeing it on David's post. I do like the combination of travel, food, wine and books. Because I am an information junkie I love sites like yours.'
Our New Jersey girl is Jackie of Collingswood. What she cares about:
"My interests and hobbies revolve around food! I love to cook and bake, as well as try new things (at home and out). I spend a LOT of time reading food blogs. I also love to travel and I am pursuing a career in urban planning to try to eliminate food deserts and provide healthy, fresh, and sustainable food to people in all living environments."
Back in Minnesota with Cheryl, a little about Cheryl (in her own words):
- I live in Alexandria, Minnesota
- My interests? Food, travel, photography, gardening, books, fine art, antiques.
- I'm a wife, mother, grandmother
- Am not a connoisseur by any means but I do enjoy wine. And good coffee.
- I'm a certified graphoanalyst (hand writing analyst) but I don't practice it, anymore.
- My Twitter name is @razzmatazlady. (Razzmataz was the name of a small business of mine)
- There's a little more about me on my Twitter profile.
I love the internet and follow many blogs although I don't often comment. I love that your blog covers such a variety of topics. I've always love cooking and baking and am now trying to create more of my own recipes using Ruhlman's Ratio as one of my resources. Nothing works better than trial and error, though! I'm a big fan of slow cookers and have just ordered Make it Fast, Cook it Slow."
By the way, the winning answer was 'getting rid of roaches'.
I still have to send a few words of consolation to all the others who competed vigarously.
There will be many more contests and your lucky number will come up.
Last, let me thank David Lebovitz for endorsing the contest and shining light on it on Twitter and Facebook.
Merci, monsieur Lebovitz.
Thanks as well to Broadway Books for suggesting the contest and offering 3 copies.
