I noticed over the past couple of years more and more women joining the winemakers and winery owners ranks with great passion.
In New York this week, a festival of sorts Divinale: Women of Wine Week celebrates their contribution.
It kicked off on Monday, March 8, International Women' s Day and concludes on Saturday, March 13 with a Charity Grand Tasting at City Winery from 1 to 5 PM.
For $45 per person you will get a chance to taste wines created by women winemakers, growers and owners. Part of the proceeds will go to the Global Fund for Women.

For the last part of the event they brought the Vino Vixens for a Wine Buying Confidence Building session.
The Vino Vixens will be Cynthia Goddeau (sommelier at Del Posto), Jill Roberts (formerly at The
Modern and The Harrison), Julee Resendez (Southern Wine & Spirits,
formerly at The Harrison, Café Boulud, and Aquavit), Mariko Kobayashi
(wine director at Esca).
