Sounds like Brasserie Beck is the closest you will get to a Brasserie Belge in Washington DS with around 100 beers to chose from.
They are as serious about their food as they are with their beers.
On October 27, the Brasserie will host a Beer and Food Pairing Dinner with Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery who the program says will be 'debuting' his bacon infused beer.
The Reinschweinsgebot will be paired with the 3rd course: Grilled Teres Major Beef with Roasted Autumn Vegetables, Asparagus, Pearl Onion and Mushroom Sauce…
Will everyone enjoy the second course, Roulade of Chapel Hills Sweet Breads?
Price per person for this 4 course dinner is $85 (plus tax and gratuity).
Check their News and Events page for more details…
Reviews and opinions about Brasserie Beck that I checked seem overall positive.
A few people seem to swear that Belga Cafe is the real real Belgian experience though.
I have not tried either of them nor do I remember having a Scaldis clocking in at 12% Alcohol which Mark of Must Love Beer (whose Scaldis pic I borrowed) describes in his tasting notes (July 09) as "With creamy mouthfeel, a pretty long finish that is dry with a touch of heat. An excellent beer that is more a sipper than a drinker."
Brewed by Brasserie Dubuisson which is celebrating 240 years in the business, Scaldis is known in most of Europe as Bush and they have a nice Bush de Noel…
