During their month long New York Electronic Art Festival 2009, digital media art center Harvestworks is offering a couple of Free Talks this week-end including this Friday October 9.

Montréal-based digital media researcher, creator and curator Cindy Poremba will discuss her work with Kokoromi,
a game art collective based in Montréal that creates new experimental
computer games and programs numerous game-based events, exhibitions and
performances.
Collaborators Stephanie Rothenberg and Megan Michalak will discuss their recent multi-media work World X Diagnostics.
Using custom designed software and sound sculptures, public data
measuring gross national well-being is collected from participating
users and translated into real-time sound frequencies through
programmed algorithms.
Choreographer and arts researcher Norah Zuniga Shaw will discuss her recent work Synchronous Objects. Created in collaboration with William Forsythe and Maria Palazzi, Synchronous Objects.
