I could not swear that it is true but Since I never tasted her creations, I could not honestly swear it is true that Christine Ferber is the magician of jams and jellies, la fee des confitures as I saw a French site call her.
In September 2004, Clotilde of Chocolate and Zucchini shared her pilgrimage to Niedermorschwihr, the Alsatian village where Christine Ferber makes magic.
Christine Ferber most recent book is Leçons de confitures (cover above) which Babeth describes in OrSerie (a French Magazine) as a combination of traditional recipes with regional and unusual ones (celery for example).
More food writing by Babeth can be found at La Cuisine de Babeth (French only)
I grew up with my grandmother making preserves year after year.
Doing that as fruits and vegetables are in season and plentiful is a good way to celebrate a certain return to frugality.
Will the jam fairy deliver one of these jams by Christine Ferber on my porch with the morning paper just in time for breakfast?
Maybe not tomorrow
