Breaking with the usual color of my wine reviews (red), recently it has been most if not all Rosé wine and its cousin Gris de Gris.
Today I am getting back to Red with 2 nice Table Wines, 9 buck wines at that.
I purchased the first one, Domaine L'Ameillaud Vin de Pays de Vaucluse on numerous occasions and noticed that the label changed for this 2007 Vintage at the David Bowler Spring Portfolio Tasting at Tribeca Grill.
If the mix did not change, this Rhone Red Blend is 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Carignan from 30 year old vines on chalky and aluvium soils in south facing terraced vineyards to the east of the village of Cairanne.
Planning a vacation in the South of France, Domaine L'Ameillaud turned their stables into 2 very cosy rental appartments (picture below, from their site.
We stay in the Mediterranean with a Barbera (Oltrepo Pavese DOC) from La Familia Pirovano, put a burger on the grill, fix a plate of cheese, pop this open and relax…no fussy wine.
Both wines run around 13% alcohol.
Sante!
