Alexis Petridis finds out how Terry Hall, Lynval Golding and John Bradbury feel about The Specials 30th Anniversary Tour in The Guardian (February 20th).
How time flies!
They think they have mellowed enough to make it through all the dates of short the tour which kicks off in Newcastle on April 22nd and ends at the Brixton Academy on May 7th. It seems like Jerry Dammers will not be part of the trip…
Doing some digging on their return to the stage, I found out thanks to Marco on the Bass that celebrations kicked off in January 2009 with the unveiling of a plaque in their native town of Coventry (picture below, from Marco on the Bass).
The unveiling was followed by an exhibit of rare photos Setting the Two Tone by John Coles from the band as well as Rankin Roger (The Beat) and Pauline Black (The Selecter) at The Lock Gallery in the same neighborhood.
Showing my age or maybe just nostalgia?
