How does it work?
You upload your creation in PDF format to MagCloud.
There is no sign up fee.
Cost for publisher is 20 cents per page (shipping cost is $1.40 per copy).
Compute these costs and set a price for your very own magazine and voila.
You might even be able to make a small profit on the effort.
MagCloud (a new venture of Hewlett Packard) takes care of printing, mailing and subscription management.
Since they use Print on Demand each copy is printed as ordered, real time publishing.
Potential readers can preview any publication for example Inspiration "a new view on regular people who are reaching for greatness" (16 pages, $4.70) or Ferdinand (40 pages, $10…cover below) which combines a travel issue with a fundraising effort for a non-profit graphic design tutoring center in the Philippines.
As you can see possibilities are endless.
Money wise all publishers and subscribers need to take advantage of MagCloud is a PayPal account.
The service is currently available only in the US.
