In books, music, food and wine, the fun comes from trying new flavors.
Sunday I picked this Artazuri (2004) from Navarra. Besides the fact that I never tried it before, I trusted my choice to be a good one since it was an Eric Solomon selection.
I could have been wrong but was not.
The wine is made from 100% Grenache grapes and offer mouth filling fruit sensations. It is not sweet mind you. Its character comes from its 60 year old vines. The soil is mostly limestone combined with red clay in some areas. Retails around $10.
In The Skinny, Basic Juice gave kudos to the 2003 vintage.
Other wineries from Navarra are showcased by TodoVino.
