It was refreshing to hear today Ruth Reichl and Gael Greene on the Leonard Lopate Show on WNYC Radio recount memories of James Beard, founder of the James Beard Foundation the ‘temple’ of American Cuisine.
What was refreshing was actually hear them recount how in the 70’s these pioneer of fresh produce and quality food, could marvel at such things as finding some delicious berries.
I guess it was before the Cult of Personality entered the american kitchen.
